When you see a vehicle coming to a red traffic light, you will see that the tires and the wheels of the vehicle start to turn slower and slower until they finally come to a complete stop. But what is that very important part that is making this happen? That's right, it’s the brakes! Brakes are one of the most important safety components on your vehicle and they are the only thing that is responsible for stopping the wheels from spinning. A lot of vehicle owners would ask how many kilometers or how much time do I have before I need to change my brakes. Unfortunately, it is not such a straight forward answer as it is varies based on conditions. For example, if the owner of the vehicle is living on the top of a hill and has to drive down the hill to go to work, they will likely need to replace their brakes sooner. Another example on the other side of the spectrum would be an owner who drives the highway to go to work, which will likely not need to replace their brakes as soon. When your brake warning light comes on, be sure to consult your Porsche Centre North Toronto advisor as soon as possible to determine which brakes needed to be replaced. If extended wear on the brake pads continues until there is nothing left, you will start to hear metal grinding noise, flakes of metal material could get stuck onto the body of the vehicle, and the brakes start to corrode. In the worst-case scenario, you may not be able to stop. Having healthy, properly installed Porsche brakes will let you slow down as intended, which could help avoid an incident or accident, and they will give assurance of safety to everyone inside the vehicle.
